Why Reverse Racism Does Not Exist
A disclaimer: The group that possesses superiority mentioned during the explanations varies from location to location.
Definitions
Racism: a doctrine or political program based on the assumption of racism and designed to execute its principles, or a political or social system founded on racism
Racial Prejudice: prejudice against or hostility toward people of another race or color or of an alien culture
These definitions are from the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, not your Google search.
Racism involves the systematic relationship of power. When backing prejudice with power, it can result in acts of oppression against groups or individuals.
Reverse racism does not exist because expressions of racial prejudice that hurts the white person individually or personally do not have the power or authority to affect the white person's social, economic, political location, and privileges.
Racism is a system, it is prejudice plus power.
But the definition in the dictionary I found is different! It doesn't say anything about racism being a system.
Using a dictionary to prove a truth is a fallacy. A dictionary is a construct that is constantly evolving and changing. I've provided a definition simply to avoid the predictable argument that our points are legitimate because we do not have a dictionary definition backing us up.
Where Does It Come From
In most cases, it stems from white people thinking they're losing privileges or rights are being taken away from them because minorities are gaining more rights, respect, etc. They feel as though because other groups are on their way to achieving equality with them, they are becoming oppressed.
In Conclusion
There should be enough basic human decency to go around to give people of color more respect/rights for you to still have some. Please come into these discussions open minded and ready to learn. If you are simply fighting for the sake of invalidating others and not genuinely believing in your own argument, then you have already lost.
